OttawaTours is an editorial magazine that minimises data collection by design. This page explains what we do — and what we deliberately don't — with the information you provide while reading the site or contacting us.
What we collect
When you load a page, our hosting partner (Netlify) records standard server logs: IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp, referrer. These logs are retained for a short window for security and performance diagnostics, then discarded.
When you submit the contact form, your message is processed by Formspree. The information you provide (name, email, subject, message) is stored in Formspree's system so we can read and reply. We do not share it with third parties.
What we don't collect
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking script. We do not set advertising cookies. We do not build a user profile of you across sessions.
Cookies
The magazine does not set any first-party tracking cookies. Cloudflare (our DNS / edge network) and Netlify (our host) may set technical cookies strictly necessary for security and performance — these are not used for advertising.
Your rights
Under European GDPR, Canadian PIPEDA, and Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, write to [email protected]. We respond within thirty days.
